I was remembering a shoot I did once in Elgin, on that one day of the year the garbage men will pick up ANYTHING you put out at the curb. Normally in the suburbs large items like couches, mattresses ect. won't be picked up because they are too large. This glorious day made for some interesting subject matter.
The show is over but... check out the catalogue from the 2nd Annual Juried Plastic Camera Show, which was held at the Rayko Photo Center in San Francisco. More info soon!
Liz Gresey (b. 1982) is a Chicago-based visual artist pursuing hope, truth, passion, and peace. Lover of reason, sometimes unreasonable.
Born and raised in the midwest, Gresey has been interested in art since an early age. Young Liz won several coloring contests
at local grocery stores and with the confidence of
knowing she could color the best Easter egg, a
relentless pursuit began to find any opportunity to
show her work. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally. Gresey works independently and collaboratively to make photographs exploring the relationship between image, text, and self. Liz finds inspiration in the unique allure of the city of Chicago, where she currently lives and works. In
addition to photography, Gresey has also worked with
ceramics, screenprinting, oil painting, holography, neon and other mixed
medias.
